CLUB side PKNS FC will face another test of character when they meet Terengganu for a place in the FA Cup quarterfinals today – less than a month after the Turtles had triumphed 2-1 in their opening Super League match in Kuala Terengganu on Jan 18.

Terengganu came back from a goal down to collect full points then – thanks to a brace by Barry Mamadou after PKNS had gone ahead through Hamka Zakaria.

Terengganu had the luxury of playing in front of their own fans in that match, however PKNS would not enjoy similar advantage this time round as their ‘home’ matches are played at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Seremban.

PKNS coach Wan Jamak Wan Hassan, though, is not too concerned with the venue as the Selangor club have proven to be a handful when playing at home or away.

Kelantan found out the hard way when the Red Ants staged a strong comeback for a 2-1 win at the famed Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru in a league match on Jan 28.

Earlier on Jan 24, PKNS stunned bigwigs Armed Forces 1-0 at the Selayang Stadium.

“We are not consistent but we are coming on fine as we progress. The team can get better if we are consistent in our performances,” said Wan Jamak.

“We won the last two league matches but after four matches in all competitions, I would say we have yet to hit the right chord. We’ve been blowing hot and cold.

“The foreign players have yet to show their true form. If they can get into their scoring act, we should be able to get past Terengganu for a place in the FA Cup quarterfinals,” concluded Wan Jamak.
