The 11-year-old Danish from Cheras had wished for an unforgettable experience riding in a fast car and when Sepang International Circuit learnt of this, they could not say no to lending a hand to make this wish come true for Danish as part of their CSR programme. Sepang International Circuit (SIC), together with the Make-A-Wish Malaysia foundation today helped make a dream come true for battling cancer patient Muhammad Danish Ariff Edi Azhar.

The 11-year-old Danish from Cheras had wished for an unforgettable experience riding in a fast car and when Sepang International Circuit learnt of this, they could not say no to lending a hand to make this wish come true for Danish as part of their CSR programme.

Danish was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2013, a type of bone cancer that mainly affects children and adolescents.

He has been responding positively to treatment and will be undergoing his last chemotherapy treatment in the coming week. Despite his illness, it did not stop Danish from enjoying his passion for speed at the Sepang International Circuit.

To realise his wish, Danish was driven around the track in a stylish Lamborghini LP670 – by Dato’ TJ Chin, Managing Director of JPM Motorsport. “It was an experience like no other,” said an elated Danish after the track session on Friday where he was able to zoom around the 5.542km track – to his great excitement.

“I’ve always enjoyed the Fast and Furious movies. But the experience of being driven around the track at high speed was awesome. It was totally out of this world!” Danish exclaimed.

Also present at the track was Danish’s father Edi Azhar Mohd Ariffin, mother Yuwana Mohamad and his seven-year-old brother Muhd Hadiff Adam.

To top it off, Danish will get to put his hands on the steering wheel – this time driving a go-kart, as he is scheduled to experience the thrill of go-karting at the Sepang International Circuit go-kart track on Saturday, 8 November 2014.

All in all, it was a perfect occasion for Danish and his family as a birthday gift for him.

Sepang International Circuit Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Razlan Razali said it has always been their goal to ensure fans get a taste of what it feels like to be behind the wheel or to be driven in a fast car.

“We aim to provide an experience like no other and especially to loyal fans like Adik Danish. The Sepang International Circuit is a place where memories are made and we hope this will be an unforgettable one for him,” said Dato’ Razlan.

The event marked the second time Sepang International Circuit has collaborated with the Make-A-Wish Malaysia foundation after a successful event last year.

To date, Make-A-Wish Malaysia has granted 200 wishes from children with life-threatening medical conditions.
