Asia’s first Major champion Y.E. Yang of Korea will join the star-studded cast at the US$3 million Maybank Malaysian Open next week.

Yang, an Asian Tour honorary member, will vie for honours against a stellar field which includes EurAsia Cup Team Europe captain Miguel Angel Jimenez, Stephen Gallacher and Robert Karlsson at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club from February 5 to 8.

Defending champion, Lee Westwood will also appear in the showpiece alongside Ryder Cup stars Victor Dubuisson, 2010 US Open Champion Graeme McDowell and Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley at the event which is  sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.

Joining them will be 23-year-old Gary Stal of France and Danny Willett who both won on the European Tour recently.

Yang, who made history when he defeated Tiger Woods at the 2009 PGA Championship, will form the Asian brigade alongside two-time Maybank Malaysian Open champion Arjun Atwal of India, former Asian Tour number one Liang Wen-chong of China and Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand, a three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner.

Indian rising stars Anirban Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Rashid Khan will also vie for honours while 2013 Maybank Malaysian Open Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Prom Meesawat, Thaworn Wiratchant, an 18-time Asian Tour winner and Prayad Marksaeng will make-up a truly global field in the event where Maybank will celebrate its 10th year as title sponsor.

These names will be playing alongside a host of other talented players and spectators are guaranteed some spectacular golf when they visit the renowned Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club from February 5th – 8th, where they will also find a great variety of other attractions to enjoy in addition to the golf itself.

Over the years, the Maybank Malaysian Open has attracted world-class golfers who have made their mark with performances by the likes of Rory Mcllroy, Louis Oosthuizen, Martin Kaymer and Charl Schwartzel joining the field of play here.
