Third qualification place goes to Germany after they beat Argentina in shoot-out

Georgina Oliva (ESP) wins Player of the Tournament

Great Britain beat China 2-0 to take first place at the Hockey World League Semi-Final in Valencia.
A goal in each half and a sixth clean sheet in seven games saw Great Britain claim first place at the Hockey World League Semi-Final to go with the Olympic spot they landed a day earlier, seeing off China 2-0 in the final in Valencia.

Hollie Webb scored the only goal of a tight-knit, tactical battle in the first half, and Alex Danson got on the end of a Kate Richardson-Walsh corner to score the second.

In the third place match, Germany beat Argentina to win the coveted third automatic Olympic qualification place.
All four teams competing 1-4 in Valencia have qualified for the Hockey World League Final in Argentina at the end of the year.
Individual awards were presented to Spain’s Georgina Oliva, the Player of the Tournament; Maddie Hinch (GBR) was voted as Goalkeeper of the Tournament; Charlotte Stapenhorst was named Young Player and Top Goal Scorer was shared by Carla Rebecchi of Argentina and Sophie Bray of Great Britain, who scored five goals apiece.
Earlier in the day, South Africa beat Ireland 4-0 to take seventh place, while USA were in a determined mood as they contained the Spanish attack to win 3-1 and take fifth place.
