The Purple League today signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) which will see both parties working closely looking to reap further benefits from this partnership.
Tan Sri Mohamed Al Amin Abdul Majid, the Acting President of the BAM and Datoâ Jack Koh, Chief Executive Officer of Purple League SdnBhd, signed the in Genting Highlands.
The BAM Council, which will meet in the afternoon will also witness the final of the Resorts World Genting Champions Challenge 2016 at the Arena of Stars tomorrow, 17 January 2016.
âThe Purple League events has in just two years developed into one of the worldâs premier badminton leagues. It has attracted world-class players from around the world,â said Tan Sri Mohamed Al Amin.
âTheir commitment to developing badminton in the country was evident when they inaugurated the Junior Purple League this year.â
âThe Purple League events has proven that they are serious about badminton and ensuring its long-term growth and progress in Malaysia. We have the same objectives as the Purple League and so it made perfect sense for us to work together.
âI am pleased to announce BAM has signed an MOU with Purple League which will pave the way for both parties to work together for the betterment of the game in Malaysia.â
This MOU will see both parties reaping benefits in years to come.
âI hope that the Purple League events will continue to be successful and will grow even further through this partnership of ours.â
Under the MoU, BAM will sanction the Purple League.
Players from BAM stable will be allowed to play in the Purple League events subject to their commitment to BAM activities.
The Junior Purple League will continue to be held in 2016 with the full support from BAM.
BAM will be well represented in the various stages of the Purple League events planning.
