SABAH SPORTS COMMISSIONER MU'AZAMIR JILI WITH STA PRESIDENT JOHNSON KOH.

Sabah Sports Commissioner to enforce rules strictly

Sabah Tennis Association president Johnson Koh met up with the Sabah sports commissionerĀ  Muā€™azamir JiliĀ  at his office in Putatan to notify and invite him to the AGM in Sandakan.

The AGM will be held in Sandakan Yacht Club at 7.30 pm. The time is to coincide with the 30th Inter Affiliates tennis tournament with Sandakan District Tennis Association as the host.

During the invitation Johnson Koh was asked on the situationĀ  of the affiliates with regards to the affiliates AGM and annual returns to the sports commissioner.

From the records of the sports commissioner (SC) office only Keningau, Lahad Datu and Sandakan have up to date returns.

The SC has empowered STA to advise and instruct the affiliates to have AGMā€™s on time following the constitution.

Johnson reported to the SC that the latest to comply is KK LTA which had their AGM on April 30th last month. They have to submit the returns within 30 days to the SC.

STA was also asked to notify the affiliates that those holding positions must hold their AGM on time failing which if the SC takes action for deregistration of the association, SC can also take the officials to court for non compliance with the statutory regulations of the sports act. They can be fined up to RM 5,000 and a jail term.

SC Muā€™azamir stressed to STA that SC office meant business and will be strict on this matter and he request STA to notify all the affiliates on this matter.

SC Muā€™azamir commends STA who has beenĀ  cooperating and assistingĀ  closely with SCā€™s officeĀ  to ensure all affiliates comply with the rulings of the constitution and sports act.

STA President warns all affiliates that have not been having their AGM to do so immediately or be liable to face the stern action to be taken by the SC.

For those who cannot serve anymore the last thing they should do is to have a AGM to elect someone who is ready to take over, if not the current official willĀ  beĀ  liableĀ  to face the action of the law to be enforced by the SC if it is deregistered.
