With less than 24 hours to the start of the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016, ticket sales have been through the roof which augurs well for hosts Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC).

The tickets which went on sale from last Monday have been well received by the Cambodian public with the grandstand tickets for the Category 1 and also VIPs having already been sold out.

A total of 5000 tickets were printed for the grandstand.

For Category 2 tickets which are for the rest of the seats at the National Olympic Stadium, a total of 45,000 tickets were printed.

Up to this afternoon, more than 60% have already been sold out.

Category 1 tickets have been priced at USD 2.50 each while Category 2 at USD 1.25.

The hot response to the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup is nothing to the citizens of Phnom Penh where football matches – even at the Under-16 level – have always been well supported.

The last AFF U16 tournament which was held here saw attendance at more than 30,000 per Cambodian games.

The last two friendlies involving the Cambodian national team against Hong Kong and also Sri Lanka also saw around 35,000 fans coming in support.
