The Vietnam Under-22 scored a psychological win ahead of the SEA Games 2017 when they beat the latter 3-0 in a friendly that was played in Ho Chi Minh City this wee.

In the well-attended match at the Thong Nhat Stadium, the home team found the target through Ho Tuan Tai, Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Cong Puong.

The Malaysians had their chances but poor finishing let the team down.

Poor defending allowed Tuan Tai to score the first goal of the game in the very first minute of play before Van Toan added the second goal with five minutes remaining of the first half.

Captain Cong Phuong then finished things off right at the end.

Malaysia will host the SEA Games in August 2017.
