The Dempsey Proton Racing, based in Ummendorf in Germany, has finalised its driver line up for the No.77 Porsche 911 RSR entry.

The cockpit will be shared by Christian Ried (GER), Marvin Dienst (GER) and Matteo Cairoli (ITA), the latter being part of Porsche Motorsport’s young driver programme this season.  The very experienced team and its drivers will meet strong competition in the FIA WEC’s other LMGTE Am entries from Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche but Dempsey Proton Racing is confident it will meet the challenge.

By signing up Matteo Cairoli and Marvin Dienst the team is opening the door to two young racing drivers, both only 20 years old.  The WEC will mean a big step up for them both but Cairoli brings with him winning experience in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, with victories in 2016 at Barcelona, Monaco, Hockenheim and Monza.  Dienst joins the WEC from the ADAC GT Masters, where he was fifth in the 2016 rookie standings.
