THE Indonesian cycling team, led by 2015 SEA Games individual time trial gold medalist Robin Manullang, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday night (10 Aug 2017) – 10 days before the start of the events oozing with confidence of another grand harvest.

Head coach Suwandra said on arrival at KLIA, the squad have their sights set on winning the Team Time Trial gold as well.

With racing set to start from August 21 to 24 at the brand new National Velodrome in Nilai and the Putrajaya route, the Indonesians will not waste time and get down to serious business with a practice runs on Friday (11 Aug) evening.

“Our main target would be the team time trial gold. We’ve been preparing hard for the event,” said head coach Suwandra. “Our mission now is to test out the new track. I believe our strong point would be the Team Time Trial event. However, we do understand that Vietnam, Thailand and hosts Malaysia are strong contenders as well.

“In 2013, Vietnam won the gold. And as for the Criterium and Individual Mass Start, I think it will be an open race,” said Suwandra, a former national cyclist.
