CYCLYING squad delivered three more gold medals for Malaysian contingent in the track event held at National Velodrome in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan Tuesday night.
World champion, Mohd. Azizulhasni Awang continues his supremacy when he easily claimed the men’s keirin gold medal with a time of 10.468s ahead of teamate,Mohd. Shariz Efendi Mohd. Shahrin who settled with a silver.
The bronze went to Md Nur Fathoni of Indonesia.
It was the 11th gold achieved by cycling team at Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games and considered as the best so far.
“Thank god, I fullfil my promise to win two gold medal for Malaysia. Thank you everyone for the support and it really boosted our spirit to step into the winning podium
“I am really happy because we finished one-two in the event.I hope we continue to dominate the track event in future,” said Azizul.

Earlier, in women’s keirin category, Fatehah Mustapa lived up to expectation when she claimed gold in the event.

As expected, the Malaysian riders made it a one-two finished with Farina Shawati Mohd. Adnan took the silver while Watinee Luekajorn of Thailand walked away with a bronze.

Also on the the winning note tonight was the men’s team pursuit who won the gold for Malaysia with a time of 4:13.159s. 
The team were represented by Eiman Firdaus Mohd Zamri, Irwandie Lakasek, Mohd Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff and Mohd Afiq Huzni Othman.
Eiman Firdaus was in his peak form to lead the team, ahead of arch rival, Thailand who wrapped up the race with a silver while Indonesia settled with a bronze.
