9th ASEAN Para Games KL2017 – Table Tennis Men Single SM9 – Malaysia Ting Ing Hock vs Thailand Sukij Samee

MALAYSIA’s senior player Ting Ing Hock is on course for his second gold medal when he qualified for the final of the men’s singles Class 9 Para table tennis competition at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre on Friday (Sept 22).

The 52-year-old Ing Hock defeated Myanmar’s Saw Hay Htoo 7-11, 11-6, 11-9 and 11-8 in the semi-finals at Hall 4 of MITEC in the Class 9 category (mild impairments affecting the legs or the playing arm).

He faces Indonesian Supriyatna Gumilar in the final on Saturday (Sept 23). Supriyatna slammed the brakes of a possible all-Malaysian final by defeating Chee Chaoming 9-11, 7-11, 11-4, 15-13 and 14-12 in the semi-finals.

Ing Hock, 52, and Hong Chin Sing, 49, played a crucial role in guiding 20-year-old Chaoming to beat Indonesia 3-2 in their final round-robin match at the Malaysia Trade and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC) on Thursday for the team gold medal.

Malaysia had earlier dispatched Myanmar and the Philippines with identical 3-0 wins to set up the title showdown with Indonesia.
