Indra Sjafri could not have chosen a better time to be offered a new contract where this week, his Under-18 team dumped newly crowned AFF U18 champions Thailand 3-0 in a friendly in Jakarta.

Indra, whose team had to be contend with just the third spot at the AFF U18 meet last month, has been moulding a strong team for the AFC U19 qualifiers which starts at the end of the month in South Korea.

“There are no plans to replace him (Indra). His contract will be extended,” said Edy Rahmayadi, the President of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI).

Indra has been in the position since the start of this year where he has looked at well over 1,000 players in his search for the perfect mix ahead of the AFC U19 Championship which Indonesia will host next year.
