# Kelantan beat Melaka 3-1 at Hang Jebat to stay in Super League

# Sarawak join Penang in the Premier League

Kelantan FA president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan shed tears as Kelantan staged a remarkable comeback 3-1 win over Melaka – a win which kept the Red Warriors in the elite Super League.

However, it was a different story at the State Stadium in Kuching as Sarawak were relegated to the second tier Premier League after a scoreless draw with T-Team of Terengganu.

It was a do-or-die mission for Kelantan at the Hang Jebat Stadium and the Red Warriors did it in style which left Bibi Ramjani, who was watching the match from the VIP box at the stadium, in tears.

It was understandable as Melaka grabbed the lead in the 30th minute and looked doomed when Nicholas Swirad from a Felipe de Souza assist. Kelantan were reeling and Melaka looked more and more threatening.

However late into the second half the Red Warriors were back in the picture when Abou Bakr Al Mel headed home cross from the left by Azwan Aripin in the 75th minute. That was all Kelantan needed to get second wind and within minutes it was 2-1 for the visitors.

Abou Bakr was on the scoresheet again on 81 minutes before substituite Alessandro sealed a fantastic night with the third in the 87th minutes.

The Kelantan fans were celebrating and know that there is still life for the Red Warriors in the Super League and probably look for better things to come for the East Coast giants who came through a miserable season this year.

In Kuching angry Sarawak fans lighted up the stadium with flares and smoke bombs as the stalemate was not good enough to stay in the Super League. The Crocs will now join Penang in the Premier League.

Pahang sealed second place in the Super League with a 1-1 draw with Perak at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh while Felda United overcame PKNS FC 4-2 at the Shah Alam Stadium to take third place.

Johor Darul Takzim had already won the Super League for the fourth consecutive year much earlier. The Southern Tigers were held to a scoreless draw by Kedah at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar.
