National Stadium to host Women’s Challenge Cup Finals

The FA of Singapore (FAS) and Singapore Sports Hub are pleased to announce that the Singapore Sports Hub will be the Official Venue Partner for the FAS-Sports Hub Women’s Football Challenge Cup in a three-year partnership agreement.

The agreement means that this year’s FAS-Sports Hub Women’s Challenge Cup Final, as well as the next two Finals, will be played at the National Stadium. This year’s Final between Police Sports Association and Warriors FC will be held on Sunday 26 November 2017 at 5.00pm.

The Third Place Play-off between Woodlands Wellington FC and Winchester Isla FC will also be held at the National Stadium on the same day, with kick-off scheduled for 2.00pm. Admission to both matches is complimentary.

FAS President Mr Lim Kia Tong said: “The FAS-Sports Hub Women’s Challenge Cup is an important event in our women’s football calendar and we are delighted to be able to play this and the next two years’ Finals at the National Stadium. This partnership along with the Memorandum of Understanding we will be signing with Singapore Sports Hub will go a long way to benefit the football ecosystem as we strive to make the National Stadium the home of Singapore football and of the Lions. I am sure that the promise of playing the Final at such an iconic venue will be serve as a great motivation for our women footballers, and I am excited to see the ever-increasing standard of women’s football in Singapore.”

With the finals being played here, we hope that it paves the way for greater interest towards women’s participation in the game.
