Thailand plan to head out to Europe in May for training as part of their title defence of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 at the end of the year.
Thai head coach Milovan Rajevac felt that the team need more time together so as to ensure that they are better prepared for the AFF Suzuki Cup as compared to how they were for the recent King’s Cup.
Slovakia denied the home team their third King’s Cup crown in a row when they beat the latter 3-2 in the final that was played at the Rajamangala National Stadium.
“As we had time constraints for the King’s Cup, players did not have much time to recover from their leagues. We also didn’t have enough time to work on tactics,” Rajevac said.
Rajevac explained that May would be perfect for a training camp as leagues in Europe are in the off-season.
“Several teams have shown an interest in playing us in Europe, which will serve as a good opportunity for our players to test their mettle against European players. Also I’d like to get to know new players that I can recruit to the team,” Rajevac added.
