# JDT beat Terengganu 2-0 at Larkin
# Kedah edge K.Lumpur 3-2 in Alor Setar
Defending champions Johor Darul Takzim scored twice in the first-half for a 2-0 win over Terengganu at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Bahru on Wednesday and took another step towards their fifth successive Super League title.
The Southern Tigers took their tally to 41 points from 16 matches – 13 points more than second-placed Perak on 28 with Pahang third and Kedah fourth on 27, separated by goal difference.
At the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar, the home team took a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time and then stepped off the gas to alow Kuala Lumpur to score twice after the break but held on for a 3-2 win to keep their top three target alive.
JDT scored both their goals in the first 34 minutes with Brazilian defender Marcos Antonio getting the first as early as the eighth minute. The towering Antonio headed home from a corner kick by Argentine Fernando Elizan.
There were more celebrations for the home fans when Argentine striker Gonzalo Cabrera drilled home an unstoppable shot on 34 minutes.
Terengganu failed to take the numerical advantage after 71 minutes when international defender Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak was red carded for roughing up Terengganu’s K. Partiban.
Indonesian international Andik Vermansyah opened the scoring for Kedah after 13 minutes when he drilled home after KL goalkeeper Sharbine Allawee punched the ball into his path from an earlier attempt.
After 32 minutes the Red Eagles soared to a comfortable 3-0 lead with goals by national striker Ahkyar Rasid and mid-season signing, Brazilian Paulo Rangel.
Guillerme De Paula reduced the deficit for the City Boys in the 44th minute and Syafwan Syahlan got the second on 87 minutes. Kedah, however, tightened up their defense and held out for full points. –RIZAL ABDULLAH
