A late goal from Tanasith Siripala gave Thailand’s Under-23 team a hard fought 2-1 win over their Indonesian counterparts last night in a friendly that was played at the Police College Stadium in South Jakarta.

The score at the end of an exhilarating first half was 0-0.

The hosts had earlier taken the lead through Septian David Maulana just three minutes after the restart before Thailand replied off Sansern Limwattana in the 52nd minute.

Tanasith then fired in the winner in the 88th minute to give Thailand the win and disappointment to the home team.

“The result was good, we created chances although there were some aspects which we need to work on,” said Indonesian U23 head coach Luis Milla.

“But Thailand were really good and they denied a lot of the chances that we have created.”
