Following from last night’s explosive clash in Group A to decide the two teams to the next round of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, tonight’s battle in Group B will be as keen or in fact even more competitive.

As of this moment, Thailand and the Philippines are at the top of the standings in Group B with seven points each although the defending champions are currently in the lead based on superior goal difference.

Singapore are third on six points while both Indonesia and Timor Leste are already out of contention.

Indonesia have picked up just three points from three matches while Timor Leste are without a point.

The match ups will be interesting as Thailand will entertain Singapore at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok while Indonesia are at home to the Philippines at the cauldron of the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

There are several possible scenarios with Thailand and the Philippines winning ensuring status quo remained where they both make the next round. So will a draw.

If Singapore and the Philippines win, then they will both make the next round with the latter as the group winners.

A draw for the Philippines against Indonesia will be acceptable as long as as Singapore do not get the better of Thailand.

Should Philippines falter to Indonesia and Singapore triumphed in Bangkok, then the Philippines will have to wave goodbye to their campaign.

Philippines’ position in case of a defeat will only be secured if Thailand beat Singapore in front of their home fans.

Should Thailand draw with Singapore and Indonesia edge the Philippines then it will be Thailand and Singapore through on goal difference.

There are multiple scenarios possible in the match ups.

The key factor here is the home team.

As it was yesterday, playing in front of the local fans seem to bring the best out of teams as demonstrated by both Vietnam and Malaysia where they each produced one of their games to date to provide the cheer across the region.

But in football anything can happen and surprises are part and parcel of the game.

So brace for another memorable night in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.
