Malaysia’s future badminton stars, over 700 of them from all over the country, will be competing in this year’s 100PLUS National Junior Badminton Circuit. Organised annually by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), the junior circuit comprises seven rounds that culminates with the Grand Finals.

The much-awaited circuit gets underway today with the first-leg in Alor Star and will end on Tuesday while the competitions in Putrajaya and Penang will start tomorrow and conclude on Wednesday. The second leg will take place in May with Johor, Melaka and Pahang as hosts while the Grand Final is held in Negri Sembilan in July.

“The 100PLUS National Junior Circuit has been running for many years and is acknowledged as a vital platform to develop and more importantly, identify our nation’s future stars. Many current national players including Olympic youth gold medallist, Goh Jin Wei, competed in this circuit,” said F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd Sponsorship and Activation Manager, Engku Isyam Tuan Losin today.

A total of 759 youngsters, from the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 categories will be competing in the first-leg of the circuit over the next few days. The performances of these young players will be closely monitored throughout the circuit with the best ones making their way into the sports school.
