Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has been given the clear mandate as the AFC President for another four years following the withdrawals of his challengers ahead of the AFC Congress next month.

Saoud Al Mohannadi of Qatar pulled out of the race for the AFC top post following the withdrawal of Mohammad Khalfan Al Romaithi from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) earlier.

Sheikh Salman, who took over the hot seat from Mohammed bin Hammam in 2013, will serve as the AFC supremo until 2023.
