Five-time Malaysian Supr League champions Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) retained their place at the top of the league with a 3-1 win over PKNS FC at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Bahru on Saturday.

The win was sweet revenge for the Southern Tigers who were ousted from the FA Cup by the Selangor club side with a 1-0 win in a third-round match at the same venue in a mid-week match.

JDT scored through Afiq Fazail, Gonzalo Cabrera and Safawi Rasid while Gabriel Guerra replied for the visitors.

Pahang kept it hot at the top with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Perak at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh. Herold Goulon netted the winner for the Elephants on 56 minutes.

At the Shah Alam Stadium, the Red Giants defeated PKNP (Perak SEDC) 2-1 with goals by Sandro Mendonca (penalty, 12th minute) and Syahmi Safawi (78th) while substitute Fazrul Hazli scored for PKNP.

After Saturday’s matches, JDT has 26 points from 10 matches to remain on top while Pahang is a close second on 24 while Selangor is third on 16 points. – BY RIZAL ABDULLAH
