Banbridge, Ireland will be hosting the first of three FIH Women’s Series Finals from 8-16 June and what a feast of hockey is in store.

Teams from eight European and Asian nations will be doing battle to see who will finish in the top two positions and therefore continuing their journey towards qualification for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The hockey on show will feature classic encounters between highly competitive nations, five of who have earned their place in the FIH Series Finals by virtue of fine performances at the FIH Series Open events earlier in the season.

The top ranked team and host nation Ireland (FIH World Ranking:8) have enjoyed phenomenal success in the past few months. A silver medal at the Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup in 2018 was won in tremendous style as the Green Army beat higher ranked teams on their path to the final. They were finally defeated by the world number one side, the Netherlands, but not before they had won the hearts of millions of hockey fans with both their endeavours and their attacking style of play.
