Buriram United’s hope of opening up a lead at the top of Thai League One 2019 suffered a slip this week when they could only eke out a drab scoreless draw on the road against PT Prachuap at the Sam Aoh Stadium.

The defending champions have been winless in their last three matches and the draw this week against a side in the second half of the league standings saw them still at the top of Thai League One.

But Buriram have just a point advantage with 34 points from 18 matches played over second-placed Chiangrai United.

In the meantime, Samut Prakan City failed to take advantage of a slip up by Buriram to go top of the table when suffered a shock 3-0 home defeat to PTT Rayong – with goals from Aris Zarifovic, Saharat Kanyaroj and Apiwat Pengprakhon.

Samut Prakan remained on fourth as PTT Rayong on sixth.

Elsewhere, Bangkok United kept up the chase at the top to maintain their position on third in the standings when they beat Trat 2-1 at home.

Adefolarin Durosinmi gave the visiting Trat side the lead but Bangkok replied through Nelson Bonilla’s double. a 1-1 draw last night.

Suphanburi drew 1-1 with Sukhothai as Ratchaburi Mitr Phol were held to a 3-3 draw by Nakhon Ratchasima and Port FC deadlocked 2-2 against Chonburi FC.
