The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has rightly postponed Johor Darul Takzim’s home match against Petaling Jaya City FC scheduled for Wednesday (July 10) at Johor Bahru’s Larkin Stadium.

The MFL said in a statement the match was postponed, taking into consideration the fear of spreading the flu bug which has swept the Johor teams as it is contagious disease.

Ten players from the Southern Tigers, four from JDT II which plies its trade in the lower Premier League and three from JDT III plus coaches and other staffs have been stricken with the flu bug.

The match against PJ City FC will now be played at the same venue on July 16. In the true spirit of sportsmanship, JDT’s match against Kuala Lumpur scheduled for July 14 will now be played a day earlier (July 13) away so that the Super League champions will get a two-day break.

JDT have also sanitized the Southern Tigers training center at Seri Gelam to ensure a safe environment.

The Southern Tigers whipped Perak 3-0 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on Saturday to keep their unbeaten record this season and hope to emulate the feat of winning the title without defeat as they did in 2016.
