FA Cup finalists Kedah could only manage a lucky 1-1 draw against PKNP (Perak SEDC) at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday but moved up to the second spot in the Super League – ahead of Pahang on goal difference.
 
Pahang, however, has two games in hand over Kedah with both teams tied on 30 points from 17 and 19 matches respectively.
 
PKNP had a goal disallowed in the dying minutes of the match after Giancarlo Rodriguez equalized on 81 minutes to wipe out Kedah’s 52nd-minute lead through former international Azamuddin Akil. 
 
At the Shah Alam Stadium, visitors Terengganu snatched a 2-1 win over PKNS FC. Terengganu goalkeeper Ilham Amirullah Razali made the difference on a night when he saved sure goals from Kpah Sherman and Firdaus Chew.
 
Terengganu opened the scoring on 35 minutes through their Uzbekistan midfielder Sanjar Shaakhmedov before new signing Kittuphong Pluemjai made it all square for PKNS in the 85th minute.
However, Nasrullah Haniff Johan ensured the Turtles full points with the winner in the last minute of play. – BY RIZAL ABDULLAH
