Wily midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and striker Nguyen Cong Phuong have been included in Vietnam’s national team ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
National head coach Park Hang-seo announced his preliminary squad of 27 players, before it trimmed to 23 players later.
Other than Quang Hai, Cong Phuong and also veteran striker Nguyen Anh Duc, newcomers included defenders Lam Anh Quang of Nam Dinh and Nguyen Hu Tuan of HCM City.
ASEAN champions Vietnam will take on Thailand on 5 September at the Thammasat University Stadium in Rangsit, Pathum Thani Province.
