The Vietnam Under-22 drew another notch in their run-up to the SEA Games 2019 when they held their counterparts from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to a 1-1 draw at the Thong Nhat Stadium.

An intense first-half saw both teams battling to a deadlock with the UAE were in firm control against a stoic Vietnam defence.

And it was to be the UAE who opened account on the night when they punished some sloppy Vietnam defending just after five minutes into the second half, for Salem Al Zaabi to slot the ball past Bui Tien Dung.

However, the lead was to last for just two minutes when Ha Duc Chinh nodded in the cross from Nguyen Hoang Duc.
