Former head coach of South Korea Shin Tae-yong has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Simon McMenemy as the new coach of Indonesia.

The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have decided to part company with McMenemy with the Scottish set to serve his last assignment when Indonesia take on Malaysia on 19 November 2019 in Kuala Lumpur.

Incidentally, it has been rumoured that talks between Tae-yong and PSSI will also take place on the same date in Kuala Lumpur.

Tae-yong, who led South Korea to the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, is currently in England and where he will return to South Korea first before beginning negotiations with PSSI.

As a coach, he led Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma to the crown of the 2010 AFC Champions League, before being appointed as the head coach of South Korea U-23 team five years later.
