Rakphol Sainetngam, the head coach of the Malaysian Futsal Under-19 team, said that the players should not feel pressured in the semifinals tomorrow as ‘anything can happen in the game’.

The Malaysian squad advanced to the semifinals of the ASEAN U19 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2025, finishing as runners-up in Group B behind Indonesia.

And tomorrow, they will take on host Thailand for the chance to play in the final this year. Indonesia will play Vietnam in the other tie.

“In the semi-finals, I think anything can happen because now the players should not feel the pressure to perform. I’m trying to tell the players that they should have fun. It does not matter who their opponents are,” said Rakphol.

“It’s already a bonus for the players to reach this far. They have tried their best and have gained experience from this tournament.”
