MASOC diwakili Ketua Pegawai Operasi, Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong manakala Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif En Gan Leong Hin menandatangani bagi pihak Prudential.
Turut hadir, Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk M Saravanan, Ketua Pegawai Pemasaran PAMB, Khoo Ai Lin, Ketua Pegawai Jenama PAMB Fiona Liau, dan Setiausaha Agung Majlis Olimpik Malaysia, Datuk Low Beng Choo.
YB Brig. Jen.
PRUDENTIAL PROVIDES INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR KL2017
SPONSORSHIP efforts for the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games continue to show positive results with Prudential, a leading and innovative insurer, signing as a Silver Sponsor of the Kuala Lumpur 2017 Games.
Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) KL2017 is set to meet its Key Performance Indicator (KPI), with the organisers close to achieving its RM80 million overall sponsorship target.
Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) became the latest addition to the KL2017 family, joining in as Silver Sponsor (RM1 million to RM3 million category) which earns the company the right to be the “Official Insurance Partner” of Kuala Lumpur 2017.
The sponsorship deal was signed between the Prudential and MASOC on Monday (27 March 2017) in Putrajaya, in the presence of Youth and Sports Minister YB Brig Gen Khairy Jamaluddin.
The agreement was inked by the MASOC Chief Executive Office, Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong while Prudential was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gan Leong Hin.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk M. Saravanan, Ms Khoo Ai Lin, Chief Marketing Officer of PAMB, Ms Fiona Liau, Chief Branding Officer of PAMB, Datuk Low Beng Choo, the Olympic Council of Malaysia Secretary-General and John Ng, Deputy president of the Malaysian Paralympic Council.
YB Brig. Jen. Khairy expressed satisfaction over the results of the sponsorship initiatives which have almost reached its RM80 million target.
A total of RM70 million or 90 percent of the total sponsorship target has been accumulated thus far as the SEA Games (19-31 Aug) and ASEAN Para Games (17-23 Sept) draw closer.
“I’m delighted that the sponsorship efforts are showing positive results despite the challenging economic environment,” he said.
As “Official Insurance Partner”, Prudential will provide insurance cover for Games’ 13,000 volunteers as well as volunteers for the Games Torch Run, which starts on May 14.
“I truly appreciate the volunteers’ commitment and enthusiasm. That was also the reason why I was very excited when the Committee informed me that Prudential had agreed to be one of the sponsors of KL2017, in particular to provide insurance cover for the volunteers”, YB. Brig. Gen. Khairy said, adding that the sponsorship is the first cooperation between the company and the Ministry.
Additionally, as part of the sponsorship, Prudential will help promote the Games via their advertising boards around the country.
Meanwhile, Mr Gan Leong Hin regards the partnership as the best platform for Prudential to give back to Malaysians who have been supporting them for over 90 years in this country. “We want to champion the dreams of these athletes and celebrate their accomplishments and joy with their families”, he said.
