Thailand beat Vietnam 5-1 to stay top of the standings in the ASEAN Under-16 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2025 here at the Nonthaburi Hall in Bangkok.

After taking a 2-0 lead, off goals from Wangsilpakhun Punno in the first minute and Petchtiam Boonyarit (10th), Thailand went on to add two more through Srijuy Achita (30th) and Potikornpat Nattapong (32nd) after the break.

Even though Vietnam managed to narrow the deficit from Do Manh Tien’s 39th minute effort, Thailand made sure of their third full points off Petchtiam’s second goal of the game moments later.

With the win, Thailand lead the round-robin competition with the full nine points from three matches played, as Vietnam moved down to third with four points.

Indonesia are second with seven points.

In the meantime, Myanmar hauled in their first full points when they beat Brunei Darussalam 6-1 in their final game of the tournament.

The score at the end of the first half was 3-0 with Myanmar finding the back of the net through Zin Ko Ko (4th), Yan Paing Phyo (15th), and Htet Wai Phyo (17th).

Mohd. Shaqeel Qays Wafri Mohd Suhardi gave Brunei a lifeline three minutes after the restart as Myanmar then piled on the rest of the goals off Tay Za Aung (24th), Kaung Myat Hein (33rd) and Tay Za Aung (40th).
