The final 18 holes of play at The Southern Junior presented by Tradewinds Furnishing were packed with low scores and first-time feats. Asia’s top-ranked junior golfers answered the call this week at Foshan Golf Club, official host venue of the event and host of the European Challenge Tour event, the Foshan Open.

For the first time in JGTA history, the girl’s battled it out on the 18th hole after finishing the final round tied at 3-under-par. At the end of the day, it was Macau native Ieong Sin Kuan (2020) who took home the trophy in the Girl’s Division. She fired scores of 73-69-71 for a 3-under-par tournament total of 213. She is the first ever JGTA Champion from Macau.

“I think my play was better than yesterday – my irons were better and my putting was good. I want to thank the JGTA, Foshan Golf Club, Tradewinds Furnishing, and my mom for supporting me”, she said.

Taking home 2nd place for the Girl’s Division is Yiyang Xu (2021), currently ranked T26 on the Junior Order of Merit. This event was Xu’s second JGTA event after debuting in the Hong Kong Junior Classic at Clearwater Bay, where she finished 14th. Tied for 3rd were Phoebe Peng (2022) of Shenzhen, China and Eila Galitsky (2025) of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Both finished the 54-hole tournament for a 4-over-par tournament total of 220.

Songge Jiang (2021) of Zhangjiagang, China, showed no sign of stopping after firing scores of 71-70-69 for a 6-under-par tournament total of 210. Jiang made his JGTA debut and subsequent Junior Order of Merit ranking after finishing T10 at the Hong Kong Junior Classic at Clearwater Bay this past February.

“I would like to thank Foshan Golf Club, the JGTA, and Tradewinds Furnishing – it actually helps a lot of great players in Asia to play AJGA”, he said.

Zhongyu (Zach) Zhang (2022) of Kunming, China, and Hsiao Che Yang (2021) of Tainan, Taiwan finished tied for 2nd with tournament totals of 2-under-par 214. Both players finished the day with two birdies on their score card.

“Thank you to The JGTA for having the opportunity for Tradewinds Furnishing to support junior golf. Hope the junior players had fun and gained experience in the Event.” – Lyra Zhen, Deputy General Manager, Tradewinds Furnishing.

The Southern Junior presented by Tradewinds Furnishing will forever mark a pivotal moment in the history of the JGTA. The final event to build a ranking on the JGTA Junior Order of Merit is the Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship 2019, taking place May 21-23 at Damai Indah Golf’s Pantai Indah Kapuk course.
