The Philippines made the cut to the final four of the AFF Under-16 Girls Championship 2019 when they thrashed Timor Leste 12-0 in their final tie of Group A that was played this evening at the Institute of Physical Education Stadium.
With Vietnam already confirming their position at group winners, the Philippines just needed a draw to make the next round.
But the joy of scoring was just too much in the Philippines side as they took control of the game right from the start and where they were always on the hunt for goals.
It took them just seven minutes to get on to the score sheet with Bianca Remis Sy making a fine finish from close.
From then on, Sy never looked back as she gave the small band of Philippines plenty to cheer as she added further goals in the 18th, 49th and 51st minute.
Substitite striker Lanie Ortillo added a hat trick with goals in the 54th, 55th and 80th minute.
The other goals for the Philippines were scored by Chenny Danoso in the 23rd minute, Celestine Bravo Luna 65th minute and Jonalyn Lucban in the 79th minute.
With their place in the next round confirmed, the Philippines will have to wait for what will happen in Group B before they will know who their opponents will be.
The semi-finals have been slated for 19 May 2019.
