SHB Da Nang moved up to second in the Toyota V-League 2016 when they beat FLC Thanh Hoa 2-1 off goals from Vo Huy Toan and Sebastian Gaston Merlo.
Thanh Hoa’s only goal of the game came off Omar Faye.
“My disk herniation was worse than I thought. I was even thinking I might become paralysed, after doctors in Singapore said it was 50-50 if I took part in a surgery. I tried my best and, luckily, I can return to competition,” said Huy Toan after the game.
With the three points, SHB Da Nang picked up 27 points as FLC Thanh Hoa slipped down to third with 25 points from the same 14 matches played.
Hai Phong still maintained their position at the top of the V-League following their fabulous 3-2 win over basement side Dong Thap at the L?ch Tray Stadium.
Elsewhere, Song Lam Nghe An blasted Quang Ninh Coal 4-0 as Hanoi T&T drew Long An 1-1 while Sanna Khanh Hoa also held defending champions Becamex Binh Duong to a 1-1 deadlock.
Quang Nam drew Saigon FC 3-3.
