KASMA HOPING FOR FAIR WEATHER AT TELUK INTAN
CP115 championship runaway leader, Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin is hoping for an improvement in the weather ahead of this weekend’s PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship at Teluk Intan, Perak.
The PETRONAS Yamaha Maju Motor youngster voiced his concern over the haze that has affected Malaysia and neighboring Singapore as a result from the billowing smoke from Indonesia’s forest fires.
Despite this weekend’s weather forecast, Kasma who leads the championship with 120 points is determined to keep his run of victories in his bid to secure the CP115 title.
The 15-year old has been relentless in the 22nd edition of the Malaysian Cub Prix, bagging four straight wins in Muar, Terengganu, Melaka and Kangar. The only time Kasma missed out on the chequered flag was during the opening round in Temerloh where he finished second while Batu Kawan marked his only DNF so far.
“I really hope the haze will ease at Teluk Intan this weekend. It would be better not just for the organizers and competing teams and riders but also for the general public who are looking forward to attend the race. We just want everyone to have a good time,” said Kasma.
Kasma added that he had had put his victory run behind him and is fully focused on the upcoming weekend.
“I am not letting our back-to-back victories get to my head. I’m grateful to win four in a row but the championship is far from over with four more races and 100 points up for grabs. Anything can happen during that time so we need to stay ahead of our rivals and keep winning if we want to be crown as CP115 champions by the end of the season.”
