THE Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) Kuala Lumpur 2017 is bent on providing athletes, officials and participating contingents with the best multi-sport Games experience, promising efficient organisation and a “zero-error” Games during the 29th SEA Games, in August.

Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary-General, Dato’ Lokman Hakim Ali said as host, Malaysia is determined to provide the best treatment to the 7,000 athletes and officials who will be chasing honours for their respective countries in the region’s largest multi-sport Games.

A total of 38 sports and 405 events will be contested, with 1,339 medals up for grabs during atthe two-week biennial Games from 19 to 31 August.

“MASOC is working tirelessly in making the 2017 Games a great success…we are now paying attention to details to ensure efficient organisation on our side. While there is still much work that needs to be done, we are very excited and eager to continue with our work to ensure zero errors in the organisation of the Kuala Lumpur Games,” Dato Lokman, who represented Youth and Sports Minister YB Brig Jen Khairy Jamaluddin, said at the opening of the 2017 SEA Games Chef de Mission Seminar in Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday (18 Feb 2017).

“The formation of 16 sub-committees under MASOC is testament to our commitment in ensuring a smooth Games, providing the best experience not only to athletes, but also to sponsors, volunteers, fans, the masses and people from all walks of life,” he added.

Meanwhile, MASOC Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong said the Games promotional activities will be intensified beginning early March. “What’s important is to sustain the hype and interests until August…as such, we need to carefully map out and plan our promotional programme,” said Dato Seri Zolkples, adding that MASOC is prepared to face and overcome any challenges prior and during Games time.

The two-day seminar was attended by Chef de Mission from all participating countries who were briefed on various aspects of the organisation of the 29th SEA Games. This include the overall operation, technical and sports, accommodation, logistics, transportation, broadcasting, information technology and accreditation.  

On Sunday (19 Feb 2017), apart from the Games’ three main clusters — Kuala Lumpur Sports City in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) – the delegation will visit venues in Putrajaya and the National Velodrome in Nilai.

 KL2017: MASOC TEKAD ANJUR TEMASYA SIFAR KESILAPAN

JAWATANKUASA Pengelola Malaysia (MASOC) Kuala Lumpur 2017 mahu memastikan penganjuran Sukan SEA ke-29 dan Sukan Para ASEAN ke-9 Kuala Lumpur 2017, yang dijadualkan pada Ogos dan September ini, berlangsung tanpa sebarang kesilapan.

Ketika menyatakan demikian kepada Ketua-ketua Kontinjen (Chef de Mission) di Kuala Lumpur pada Sabtu (18 Feb 2017), Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) Dato’ Lokman Hakim Ali menegaskan selaku tuan rumah, Malaysia mahu menyediakan layanan dan pengalaman terbaik kepada lebih 7,000 atlet, pegawai, tetamu dan peminat sukan sepanjang berlangsungnya temasya.

“MASOC sedang berusaha gigih ke arah itu dan kini memberi perhatian khusus kepada pelbagai aspek penganjuran. Masih banyak yang perlu dilakukan, tetapi kami amat bersemangat bagi memastikan penganjuran yang bebas dari kesilapan,” kata beliau, yang mewakili Menteri Belia dan Sukan YB Brig Jen Khairy Jamaluddin, ketika merasmikan Seminar Ketua Kontinjen Negara Sukan SEA ke-29, di Kuala Lumpur.

Katanya, penubuhan 16 jawatankuasa kecil dari pelbagai agensi dan sektor merupakan bukti komitmen Malaysia menjadikan temasya yang bertemakan “Bangkit Bersama” itu yang terbaik.

MASOC mahu memastikan kehebatan temasya itu dirasai bukan sahaja oleh atlet dan kontinjen, lebih dari itu, diraikan masyarakat pelbagai lapisan, sukarelawan dan peminat sukan dari seluruh Asia Tenggara.

Dalam pada itu, Ketua Pegawai Operasi Sekretariat MASOC, Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong berkata program promosi Kuala Lumpur akan lipatgandakan mulai awal Mac.  “Yang penting ialah memastikan momentum dan minat serta kesedaran orang ramai terhadap Kuala Lumpur 2017 terus kekal sehingga tiba detik temasya nanti.” kata beliau.

MASOC juga bersedia menghadapi dan mengatasi pelbagai cabaran dan kemungkinan bagi memastikan temasya Kuala Lumpur 2017 diraikan tanpa sebarang masalah.

Seminar dua hari itu dihadiri sembilan Ketua Kontinjen (Chief de Mission) ke Sukan SEA ke-29 termasuk dari Timor Leste, Myanmar, Vietnam, Filipina, Kemboja, Singapura, Brunei, Laos, tuan rumah Malaysia manakala Thailand dan Indonesia menghantar Timbalan Ketua Kontinjen.

Kesemua Chef-de-Mission diberikan taklimat menyeluruh mengenai operasi dan persiapan terkini oleh MASOC termasuk aspek sukan dan teknikal, penginapan, logistik, akreditasi, pengangkutan, teknologi maklumat, konsortium penyiaran dan lain-lain utama aspek penganjuran. 

Esok (19 Feb 2017), delegasi Chef de Mission akan meninjau tiga kluster utama temasya di Bandar Sukan Bukit Jalil, Pusat Pameran Antarabangsa Malaysia (MITEC) di Sri Hartamas, Pusat Konvensyen Kuala Lumpur (KLCC) dan Velodrom Nasional di Nilai. Kluster berkenaan akan menjadi venue sebahagian besar daripada 38 sukan dan 405 acara yang dipertandingkan nanti.
