9th ASEAN Para Games 2017 - RIMAU MaskotTING Ing Hock, Malaysia’s most senior Para table tennis players, failed in his mission of a second gold medal when he lost to Indonesian Supriyatna Gumilar 3-0 in the men’s Class 9 final at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre on Saturday (Sept 23).

Backed by a vociferous band of supporters, Supriyatna turned on the power against the Malaysian to win 11-8, 11-7 and 11-9.

Chee Chaoming, another Malaysian player, and Myanmar’s Saw Hay Htoo shared the bronze medals.

In the women’s singles Class 5, Roslinda Br Manurung defeated Malaysian Azila Alias 3-0 (11-2, 11-3, 11-0) for the gold. Fellow Malaysian Chung Sow Fun took bronze. The Malaysians closed their chapter in the Para Games by winning one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Indonesia won seven more gold medals on Saturday (Sept 23) to take their total tally to 14 gold medals, 10 silver and four bronze whilst Thailand picked up four more today for a total of nine gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze.
