IT’s all systems go as organisers and drivers set their minds and sights on strong showingon the track for the penultimate round of the Formula 4 SEA Championship fueled by Petron which takes place at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) this weekend.

The current unpredictable and erratic Malaysian weather of late afternoon thunderstorm and heavy downpours could prove to be challenging for drivers who will have to be at their best racing in what could be a wet race at the circuit.

Event 9 of the 40-race championship starts off with Race 1 at 5.45pm local time on Friday followed by Race 2 on Saturday (10.30am, 23 Nov). The final two races of Race 3 and Race 4 are scheduled on Sunday at11.45am and 3.00pm respectively.

The race is expected to feature this season’s usual suspects like Lucca Allen of Ireland, Australian Josh Smith, Elias Seppanen (Finland), Omani Shihab Al Habshi as well as local heroes Muizz Musyaffa and 2018 Asian Senior Max Champion Amer Harris.

Expect this weekend’s racing affair to be filled with pulsating action as drivers push themselves to the limit before heading for the finale at the same circuit next month.

Apart from watching live from the stands, racing fans will be able to follow all the action via live streaming on Formula 4 SEA Facebook.

Race crew including engineers and mechanics are working round the clock to put the final touches on the cars and ensure that no stones are left unturned. “We’re putting on the final touches on the cars and we’ve put out several out on the track for testing since yesterday. Hopefully, everything goes well,” said F4 SEA chief mechanic Mohamed Shah Effendy (Pico).

All eyes will be on 17 year-old Malaysian young driving star Muizz Musyaffa, who clinched his first win of the season in the last race (Event 8), to continue his creditable performance this week in front of the home fans.

The season concludes next month with the finale event scheduled from 13-15 December at Sepang International Circuit.

Formula 4 SEA promoter Peter Thompson urged fans to turn up in droves, saying that the last two events will undoubtedly see some top racing action with drivers eager to prove themselves before the start of the new racing season.
