# Kelantan to terminate contract of players after six months if they do not perform

 

Kelantan have tightened their belts and will not tolerate any “below par” performance from their players, especially the foreigners, in this year’s M-League.

Kelantan FA (KAFA) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa sent out a strong message that players who do not perform will find themselves out after six months.

“One month notice is enough to notify the player(s) that their contract is terminated. They will be paid two months salary in lieu,” said Annuar. “This is for all players, locals and foreigners.”

The stern measures taken by Kelantan, treble champions in 2012 when the Red Warriors won the League Cup, FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup, as the East Coast powerhouse had bitter experiences of paying their foreign players a year’s salary if their contract was terminated.

This year a new look Kelantan have signed deadly Mali striker Dramane Traore, retained Australian defender Jonathan McKain apart from signing midfielder Jonathan Lucca (Brazil) and Macedonian hitman Blazhe Ilijoski.

Also returning to the side are former internationals Indra Putra Mahayuddin (from Felda United) and Terengganu-born Nor Farhan Muhammad and Daudsu Jamaluddin (from JDT).

On Tuesday the Red Warriors, who are now known as Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors, fell to a 2-0 defeat to Premier League outfit Kuala Lumpur in a friendly match at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Bahru.
