Indonesia, Australia and Thailand have been chosen to host the FIFA Series 2026, which is an inter-confederation invitational tournament.

It was held for the first time in March 2024.

Indonesia and Australia will host a group each of the men’s competition, while Thailand will host one group of the inaugural women’s event.

“It is a great opportunity which we should take advantage of to improve the level of the national team,” said FA of Indonesia (PSSI) President Erick Thohir.

“Playing against teams from outside of the Asian region will be beneficial. It will allow us to compete at the world level.”

In addition to Indonesia and Australia, the other hosts of the men’s event FIFA Series 2026 are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, and Uzbekistan.

Other hosts of the women’s event are Brazil and the Ivory Coast.
