Myanmar will take on Malaysia in a friendly in Yangon in a game which head coach Gerd Zeise hopes will sharpen his chargers in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup later in the year.

Following the 1-1 draw against a Myanmar National League ā€˜Foreigners XIā€™ earlier this month, Zeise will be under pressure to shape the team which will hopefully deliver the goods in front of their home fans in November.

ā€œOur teamā€™s disease is in its finishing,ā€ said Zeise, whose team needed a late 87th minute strike from Win Naing Soe to draw the game.

ā€œSometimes our strikers prefer to try and show their individual skill. They are over-confident and impatient to score.ā€

After the friendly and then the AYA Bank Cup in early June, there are plans to bring the team abroad for a series of friendly matches.

Tickets for the AYA Bank Cup will be sold at K3000 and K1000, and games will be broadcast on free-to-air TV.

AYA Bank have signed an agreement to sponsor another tournament with different invitees next year.
