# Kedah MB announces cash reward for Red Eagles

# First team players to get RM15,000

# Other players to get monetary reward but scaled down according to number of appearances

 

Kedah might have lost the Malaysia Cup final to Selangor but they will still be rewarded with RM15,000 each for their efforts.

This was announced by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir on Sunday night at Istana Nagara when the team was feted by the King and Queen of Malaysia, HRH Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah and HRH Highness Tuanku Hajah Haminah.The Royal couple who hail from Kedah.

Datuk Mukhriz is also the president of the Kedah FA.

The RM15,000 will be given to the first team players. The other members of the team will also be rewarded with cash but the amount will be calculated on the number of appearances they made during the competition.

Selangor won the Malaysia Cup final 2-0 played on Saturday at the Shah Alam Stadium with goals by Ahmad Hazwan Bakri in the early minutes of each half.

Kedah achieved back to back treble in 2007 and 2008 under Azraai Khor Abdullah – winning the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup, the most after silverware in Malaysian football.

All in all the Red Eagles have won the prestigious Malaysia Cup four times. Apart from winning in 2007 and 2008 the northern state also win in 1990 and 1993.

This year Kedah won the second-tier Premier League title which came with a promotion to the Super League and the Red Eagles could pose a serious threat to the big names in elite league next season.
