Following a successful edition this year, #Fugazitrackattack are looking at an even bigger and better event in 2017 as they look to take community racing to greater heights.

There were about 40 participants for the #Fugazitrackattack this time round although there were about 60-70 participants during their track days throughout the year.

“Some of the participants are already requesting another time attack event whilst others are looking forward to our upcoming track day,” said Fugazi Racing team’s Jacq Vythilingam to Sports247.My

Track attack is a time attack which is a type of motorsport where the race cars compete against the clock, and not directly against each other. Each car is timed through a circuit at the track.

During the #Fugazitrackattack, participants are allowed to drive as many laps as they can in 2 hours. There is no qualifying, no races and very few rules as drivers compete to see who has got the fastest car in a single lap.

“We believe it was an overwhelming success. It was also relatively easy to organize as the team has been hosting regular Track Day events at Sepang International Circuit for motorsports enthusiasts and to encourage community racing,” added Jacq.

“For 2017, we will continue to host our regular track days to encourage community racing for Malaysian motorsports enthusiasts. Next year, we look forward to hosting another #Fugazitrackattack for sure.”
