# Calls on his players to keep focus on the match

Reigning Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim, on paper, are the favourites but Kedah coach Tan Cheng Hoe, believes “nothing is impossible” in football these days .

This gives him and the Red Eagles hope in Saturday’s first-leg FA semi-final match against the Southern Tigers at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar.

“The big names in JDT are only on paper, On the field they are just like any other players. We can get a positive result at home in the first-leg (semi-final) and let us make use of the opportunity,” said Cheng Hoe.

“I do agree JDT are the favourites not only in the two-leg semi-finals against Kedah but also for the silverware. Let us not worry of that or what people say.

“It is a tough match and it is left to us to go out and show what we can do against the favourites. Do not fear the big names. You are just as good or even better than others.”

Kedah last won the FA Cup in 2008 under coach Azraai Khor when Kedah completed back to back hattricks by winning all three silverwares – the League Cup, the FA Cup and the prestigious Malaysia Cup.”

JDT are the hot favourites and firing on all fronts in all competitions so far. The Johor outfit became the first team to advance to the knockout stage in the AFC Cup competition in Group H – winning all four matches so far.

The Southern Tigers are the defending AFC Cup champions.

With depth on the bench JDT have been able to rotate their players without much problems and coach Mario Gomez is counting for another positive result when they face Kedah in the FA Cup.
