An early strike in the first half was enough to allow Hanoi 1 to maintain their hold of the Vietnam National Women’s Football Championship when they beat close rival Phong Phu Ha Nam 1-0 in HCM City.
Striker Nguyen Th? Minh Nguyet, scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute when she fired in from some 20metres out.
The win allowed Hanoi 1 to pick up 35 points from 13 matches – five points ahead of second-placed Phong Phu Ha Nam from the same number of games played.
Hanoi will take on defending champions HCM City 1 next Tuesday.
