With their FA Cup semi-final hopes hanging by a thread after their 2-0 defeat to Lions XII in the first-leg quarter-final, Johor Darul Takzim II suffered a demoralising 2-1 defeat to Kedah at home in a Premier League match on Sunday night.

Kedah stunned the homesters deep into injury time when midfielder Farhan Roslan netted the winner just when the match looked like ending in a 1-1 stalemate after Leandro Velazquez netted the equaliser on 86 minutes – wiping out Kedah’s fourth minute lead through Nigerian striker Chidi Edeh.

It has been bad week for JDT II who were beaten by the Lions at the Jalan Besar Besar Stadium. The return-leg FA Cup quarter-final match will be played at the Pasir Gudang Stadium in Pasir Gudang and Fandi Ahmad’s team are strongly placed to advance to the semi-finals.

While Kedah moved up to fourth place in the 12-team Premier League with 12 points – ahead of UiTM FC on goal difference., JDT II dropped a rung to seventh place with 10 points.

Meanwhile, the other Premier League match between Negri Sembilan and Penang at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi was postponed because of a water-logged pitch following heavy rain.

Terengganu outfit T-Team lead the table standings with 14 points on goal difference. Penang are also on 14 points but have a game in hand over their rivals.
