Kedah head coach Tan Cheng Hoe is confident the Red Eagles squad can repeat their double win this season by lifting the Malaysia Cup against Selangor at the Shah Alam Stadium tomorrow.

He said the players were becoming more confident and more mature especially after successfully passing the quarter and semi-finals of the Malaysia Cup following their triumph in the Premier League this season.

He said the team had worked hard and must maintain their momentum to wrest back the Malaysia Cup which they won in 2008.

“Congratulations to the team, I am very proud of the fighting spirit they demonstrated in the Malaysia Cup matches.

“I often communicate with (acting chief coach) Ramon Marcote on the performance of the team. I see the confidence of the team has risen further, there is also less stress on the players unlike during the Premier League competition,” he told Bernama.

Tan handed over his duties temporarily to Marcote as he had to attend a licence A coaching course in China since November, but will be with the team and Marcote at the final tomorrow. – BERNAMA
