24H series logoDutch agency CREVENTIC, promoters and organisers of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, will be organising the 24-hour race at the legendary British circuit of Silverstone next year. Participation in the race, which will be held from April 1-3, 2016, will be open for touring cars only. As a result, the ‘Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE’ will not be counting fully towards the 24H SERIES, which is for GTs, touring cars and 24H Specials, but the new organisers are looking for options to reward the participating teams.

“We will refer to the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE as our ‘European touring car edition’ and we are really delighted with this addition to our portfolio of events,” says Helen Roukens on behalf of CREVENTIC.

“We are determined to make the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE even more firmly established in the international motor racing world and to further increase the profile of the event.” Stuart Pringle, sporting director, Silverstone Circuit Ltd, is enthusiastic, too: “I am delighted that CREVENTIC has reached a deal to take over the running of the annual 24 hour race at Silverstone. They run some excellent endurance races in Europe and further afield and I look forward to them bringing a very healthy entry to Silverstone in 2016 and beyond.”

With the Hankook 24H DUBAI, the original endurance race in the Gulf region, as its flagship event, CREVENTIC has become well known as an organiser of endurance race events in numerous countries. After the success in Dubai, which will host the 24-hour race for the eleventh time from January 14-16, 2016, races in Hungary, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, France and the Czech Republic were added to the CREVENTIC portfolio. “Being able to run the organisation of the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE, in the country that is playing such an important role in motor racing and at the circuit that rightfully calls itself the home of British motor racing, is a great honour and pleasure for us,” Roukens continues.

The existing structure of touring car categories from other events of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, with cars running in the classes A5 to A2 and special classes for diesel-powered machinery, will remain in place for the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE. “On top of that, we want to run an additional class for cars to TCR regulations, plus a category for youngtimers and classics,” Roukens says. “As usual, we will have TV coverage with our partner Motors TV and live streaming throughout the race on our series’ website.”
