There is no stopping Selangor at the 100PLUS National Junior Circuit (2nd Leg) Division One at the Johor Badminton Association Hall in Larkin, Johor Bahru.

The Klang Valley outfit look set to walk away with the bulk of the titles at stake after sweeping into the semi-finals in the Girls’ Under-16 doubles and singles and also in the Boys’ Under-16 singles.

Defending Boys’ Under-16 champion Chua Kim Sheng and top seed will face teammate Yap Juin An (seeded 3/4) for a place on Saturday’s final with an 18-21, 21-19, 21-9 win over Johor’s Tew Hen Zhuan.

Juin An gave a polished display to end Kuala Lumpur’s Bryan Chang Khai Yang’s run with a 21-15, 21-19.

Another of Selangor player Haris Safuan Rushdan defeated compatriot Chui Jin Yang 21-18, 21-19 to set up a semi-final clash against Kuala Lumpur’s Hooi Shao Herng who came through a 21-17, 19-21, 21-17 win over Ariffin Nazri Zakaria.

“I am here to show my win in the first-leg in Penang was no fluke. I want to retain the title here and I am more than pleased with my form at present,” said Kim Sheng.

First-leg double winner K. Letshanaa powered into the semi-finals in, both, the singles and doubles in the Girls’ Under-16 category.

In the singles, Letshanaa gave another impressive performance to pack off Johor’s Ler Yee Huey 21-11, 21-14 in 25 minutes and will face compatriot Siti Nurshuhaini Azman for a place in the final. Nurshuhaini upset third seed Goh Shuen Tong of Sabah 21-17, 21-10.

The other semi-final will be between second seed Arena Satu Samin of Sabah who stayed on course for a repeat final against Letshanaa after cruising past Selangor’s Lim Qi Ling 21-7, 21-7 and Johor’s hope Hoe Shi Yun who stunned fourth seed Loh Zhi Wei of Selangor 21-19, 21-17.

Letshanaa-Zhi Wei, the defending champions, also reached the last four in the Girls’ Under-14 doubles after crushing Johor’s Lee Jia Yi-Zuraini Nazri 21-10, 21-14. They next face Sabah’s Shuen Tong-Arena who handed Lee Yue-Amanda Yap Hwa Leng (KL) a 21-12, 21-15 defeat.

Johor’s hopes lie with Davincy Saha Dylyvy Saha-Hue Shi Yun who ousted Chong Roura-Dayang Nurniwanee Irwan (Sabah) 21-9, 21-19 and will face Selangor’s Siti Nurshuhaini-Ho Lo Ee who won 21-15, 21-9 against Johor’s Chiam Bao Ni-Lim Shin.
